Meet Your Travel Advisor

I’m Cara (Carrie) Lockrem, the owner and operator of Lockrem Travel, LLC.  I’ve spent the last two years working as an independent travel advisor, currently affiliated with Main Street Travel LLC.

My love for travel took root early. I was just five when my family took a trip to Alaska, and from that point on, summer after summer in that wild, beautiful place, the way I see the world was shaped.

As a military spouse, I bounced between states—Washington, Louisiana, Hawaii, Colorado, and Texas. Each move brought new adventures and new moments to capture through my camera. My husband, kids and I made memories at Disneyland, Disney World, and everywhere in between. Now, as a grandmother, getting to watch my grandkids feel that same wonder is one of my biggest joys.

I’ve been to nearly every U.S. state and I’m always first in line for anything adventurous—roller coasters, ziplining, white-water rafting, parasailing and snorkeling in the cenotes of Mexico or the Barrier Reef in Belize.  I’ve also explored 14 countries, including mission trips to China, where visiting orphanages showed me a level of resilience and hope I’ll never forget.

Out of all those journeys, Japan has my heart. It’s my favorite place in the world. I fell in love with the landscapes and culture, but even more with the people—their kindness, their attention to detail, and the way they carry honor and excellence into everything they do. It’s inspiring, and something I think we can all learn from.

Now that we’re empty nesters, my husband and I travel even more—from cruising through Japan and Korea, to relaxing at Caribbean all-inclusive resorts to road-tripping across the U.S. and Canada.  Amsterdam and Brussels are next, and I’m already dreaming about the tulips and windmills.

Travel isn’t just what I do—it’s part of who I am. As a travel planner, I bring that same passion into every itinerary I create. I love finding those little hidden gems, removing the stress, and helping people experience the world in ways that feel meaningful, effortless, and unforgettable.
